Iva is a former member and oboe player with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Also a founding member and composer of Flowers/Icehouse.

In Australia alone the band had 8 top 10 albums, over 30 Top 40 singles and sales in excess of 28 Platinum albums and over 2 million sales. Iva is a member of the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Iva’s work as a composer includes Peter Weir’s Master and Commander and The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant for Granada TV.
